Full Tilt Poker Gaming License Suspended - Site Shuts Down

The Alderney Gaming Control Commission has suspended Full Tilt Poker’s license to operating online poker games, preventing the site from legally offering online poker or processing deposits and withdrawals.

The news came in an AGCC press release, which noted that Full Tilt Poker may attend a hearing on July 26^th in London to deal with the issues laid out in the Hearing Notice and Suspension Notice issued to the company.

“The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011, during which grounds were found to indicate that these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation,” the AGCC said in a statement. “The nature of the findings necessitated the taking of immediate action in the public interest.”

At the moment, the Full Tilt Poker site is down, and players are unable to connect to play or deposit and withdrawal funds.

Thus far, Full Tilt Poker has not announced any reaction to the news. According to the Twitter account associated with QuadJacks Radio (@QuadJacksDotCom), a source inside Full Tilt Poker says that the site may reopen within a few hours without a license. This would reportedly make it difficult, if not impossible, to find payment processors willing to work with them. At the time of this writing, there is no confirmation of when or if Full Tilt Poker will resume operations.

In other Full Tilt Poker news, the online payment processor Moneybookers has cut ties with the site. In an email to members, Moneybookers cited the “extraordinary circumstances” Full Tilt finds themselves in as the reason behind their decision to stop allowing Full Tilt Poker transactions.

Malouda: French were "Shameful"...

Florent Malouda could not hide his disappointment after France's defeat to Mexico on Thursday, describing it as "shameful".

The Chelsea wide man, who won the Players' Player of the Year award at Stamford Bridge last season, was recalled to the French line-up for their second World Cup group game, and though he often looked like his side's most dangerous player, could not inspire a win.

France have now failed to score in both of their group games in South Africa, and must beat the hosts in their final match to stand any chance of progressing into the last 16.

"We must save our honour; it is shameful to lose like that," Malouda said afterwards. "It's hard to react so soon after the game. We cannot leave without winning a match."

Another side under pressure is Portugal, who also failed to score in their opener against Ivory Coast, but Deco believes they will turn in a better performance in their second game against North Korea.

The playmaker considers the relative lack of goals at this World Cup is due to teams being overly cautious.

Both teams can still qualify from the group stage, although the French will now need a win against South Africa and will have to hope Uruguay and Mexico don't draw.

If you still fancy the French to come through the group and go on to win the tournament you can find them at Paddy Power at 125-1, and if it's Portugal you fancy to lift the cup they can be found at 30-1.

The 45-year-old, who had worked for the broadcaster for eight years, was dismissed when it emerged that a group of ladies involved in a marketing stunt were using tickets purchased by him.

New Formula 1 Season, New (Free-To-Enter) Fantasy Racers Game

There have been some fairly significant changes for F1 in 2010 so here is a quick synopsys for those that haven't been following the off track schenanigans during the close season.

Overall Changes
There will be no re-fuelling during the race. Whilst KERS will still be permitted, all teams have agreed not to use it in 2010. Revised Championship points system. Probably. 26 car grid, allowing 13 teams to compete.

Team Changes
4 new teams. US F1, Campos Meta, Virgin Racing and Lotus F1. BMW have sold their team to Peter Sauber but will continue to race as "BMW Sauber F1" in the short term. Toyota have withdrawn completely from F1. Brawn GP is now known as Mercedes Grand Prix having sold a controlling stake in the company to the German car manufacturers. Their involvement with McLaren will be reduced significantly this year.

Driver Changes
Felipe Massa reclaims his Ferrari seat having fully recovered from the head injury sustained last year. He has a new team mate in Fernando Alonso. Kimi Raikkonen takes a sabbatical from F1 and turns his attention to Rallying for 2010. A familiar name returns to F1 following a 3 year absence. Michael Shumacher has come out of retirement and joins Ross Brawn at Mercedes GP. Nico Rosberg completes the all German line-up. Jenson Button leaves Brawn GP and joins fellow brit Lewis Hamilton at McLaren.
Robert Kubica leaves BMW Sauber and joins Renault. His team mate for 2010 has yet to be confirmed, but is rumoured to be Vitaly Petrov. Rubens Barrichello will be the experienced driver of Williams, partnered by the 22 year old Nico Hulkenburg. Sauber take a similar stance with mixing experience with young talent by pairing Pedro de la Rosa with 23 year old Kamui Kobayashi. Scuderia Toro Rosso confirm Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari. Red Bull stick with Mark Webber and Sebastien Vettel. Force India keep Vitantio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil. Lotus F1 have gone with Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen to head their maiden campaign. Campos Meta have named Bruno Senna but are still to confirm who will partner him. Virgin Racing have gone with Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi. US F1 Team recently confirmed Jose Maria Lopez - no news on the second driver as yet.

That just about sums it up. With racing just over 6 weeks away be sure to get your Fantasy Racers team in promptly. You can change things about as much as you like right up until the start of the first official qualifying session for Bahrain on Saturday 13th March.

Real Sign Kaka in 60M Deal

It was announced this morning that Real Madrid have signed Kaka in a 60M deal. It has been known a while he was on his way and more recently everyone knew where he was going but the deal is now done and so 60 million quid - what do you think? Is it too much? Does it represent value for money? Would you have prefered to see him in the Premiership, or do you think he'd have done a bit of a Robinho? Real bought him cheaper than I thought it was going to be for but I still think that 60 million is a little too steap for any player, and will he help Real's chances? The odds have gone in to 13-8 with the news of the signing, but they need it - they lost their last five games of last season (or thereabouts) and they need to do something.
